I have followed the instructions to install PRECIS on my computer with OS openSUSE.
However, when i try to start PRECIS i get the following error:

precis@linux-ocqb:~> precis
wish8.3: error while loading shared libraries: libX11.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I will be grateful for any assistance.

Hi Edson,

Here's what to do:

Check that $UMDIR/lib exists
Log in to the PRECIS user account and open a terminal, then type

Code:
.  $HOME/setvars
ls $UMDIR/lib

If that directory is there, please open the $HOME/setvars file using a text editor (emacs, pico, nano, gedit, kate)

add this line to the end of the file

Code:
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:$UMDIR/lib

Save the file and exit.

Then re-source the setvars file by typing
Code:
. $HOME/setvars

then try to run PRECIS again.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks
David
