Dear all:
I have installed PRECIS on OpenSuSe 13.1 and the installation was successful. Nevertheless, when I configure PRECIs to run a simple experiment over a small domain, I get this message error:
“ERROR in umsubmit => Experiment mmmaa not started.”

The complete file:

Starting with command:
/home/precis/um/vn4.5/utils/umsubmit mmmaa >>/home/precis/precis_expt/tmp/mmmaa.restart 2>&1
Your output will be sent to file:
/home/precis/precis_expt/precis_output/mmmaa000.mmmaa.d14174.t034959.leave

I have already enabled ATD in YAST but still does not work.
Any ideas?
Best Regards, Maikel

Hi Maikel,

This error is almost always around ATD. You need to both *enable* and *start* ATD in YaST.

You can test the at daemon with a quick command. Type this:

Code:
at now
echo "Maikel" > $HOME/Maikel.txt

Now hit Control D

The at command should execute, and you have have a file $HOME/Maikel.txt which contains the text Maikel.

It may be something else, so see if there is a *.leave file generated

cd $MY_OUTPUT
ls -rt mmmaa* | tail -1 | gzip -v

Reply and attach the resulting *.leave.gz

NOTE WELL I have to warn you that right now PRECIS is not working on OpenSUSE 13.1 because of the Perl error that Khandu first found (see the other post).

Until we fix that error, PRECIS won't work on OpenSUSE 13.1 (or any other brand new, cutting edge Linux that has the newest perl).

So if you are in a big hurry, I'd recommend OpenSUSE 12.3.

David
